This year 18,026 people entered the Splendours of Spain contest. Fantástico! You are the public in public media and we couldn’t be more grateful for the continued support of our viewers.
Quite simply, it’s donations from Knowledge Partners like you that allow us to bring British Columbians some of the world’s best mind-expanding, carefully curated and commercial-free programs they’ve come to love every day. We’re here for you because you’re here for us. Thank you!
A long-term monthly donor, Bill is a Knowledge Partner who appreciates the level of rational, informative programming Knowledge provides amidst the “sea” of misinformation/disinformation perpetuated by social media. Programs like Great Continental Railway Journeys, Haida Modern and Search and Rescue: North Shore are some particular favorites.
Having never been to Spain, Bill was delighted to get the news that he won and plans to spend lots of time researching the country before the trip:
“The opportunity to visit and to learn about the geography and culture of Spain on my first trip will be instructive and worthwhile. The number of cities on this itinerary is marvelous and will provide an initial overview of the country, the people and culture. The small group tour is ideal and allows for group discussion and learning opportunities.”
Thanks also to our partners at Tourworld Travel Company for arranging such a wonderful adventure for our winner.
Think of Spain, and images immediately pop into your mind: flamenco dancers, perhaps, or steaming pans of paella. Maybe you picture sun-drenched beaches or grand plazas. Whatever this country conjures for you, it’s probably vibrant, colourful and full of flavour.
Spanish culture is no one thing. It’s a study in contrasts: bustling and dynamic, but also willfully slow. It’s ancient and modern, quaint and grand. And it’s remarkably different from region to region.
But don’t take our word for it. We want you to experience the unique vibes of Spain’s iconic cities for yourself. To learn from locals and understand the nuances of these singular cultures — each world-famous for good reason. And of course, to take some time to simply sit and savour the deliciously slow pace of la vida Española.
Enter now to be the lucky winner of our Splendours of Spain contest and experience everything this fascinating region has to offer — including art and architecture, food and wine, history and much more.
