Knowledge Network taps Sarah Jane Flynn as its new Executive Producer of Original Programming

Burnaby, B.C. (April 10, 2025) – Knowledge Network is excited to announce industry veteran Sarah Jane Flynn as its new Executive Producer of Original Programming. Sarah Jane will lead on Knowledge Network’s slate of documentary commissions, development projects, and second window pre-licenses. Patrice Ramsay, who currently spear-heads independent production at Knowledge Network, is retiring in May.

“Original documentaries from B.C.’s talented and diverse independent production community, stories that are ‘by us and for us’, have pride of place in Knowledge Network programming,” said Michelle van Beusekom, President and CEO of Knowledge Network. “We are just thrilled to have Sarah Jane join our team. Her expertise and finely honed creative and business affairs skillsets will further strengthen our partnership with B.C. producers to bring exciting homegrown stories to our audiences. We are immensely grateful to Patrice who has expertly led on this work for years, built tremendous relationships with the documentary production community and helped bring many outstanding original programs to Knowledge viewers.”

Sarah Jane has over two decades of experience in developing, producing and programming content for television and digital platforms. She has held senior roles at Shaw Media, Canwest and Paperny Entertainment, and has overseen award-winning original unscripted programming for Global, History and National Geographic among many others. Sarah Jane holds a joint MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and the Schulich School of Business at York University.
